ABOUT ME
My name is Kimberley Simmons. I have a passion for business and want to help you with yours!
HOW CAN I HELP?
It all started back when I was in high school. I was with my mother when she went to pick up her paycheck on a day off. We walked into the office and I saw someone viciously pecking away on an adding machine and said "I want to do that!" I already had a love of numbers and accounting seemed to be my perfect direction. However, I quickly discovered that I did not want to become a CPA and didn't want to be in the corporate world.
Soon after high school, I started out at a ready-mix concrete plant and self-taught myself bookkeeping and accounting while working as a data entry clerk.
After eight years, I went to work for an electrical contractor as an administrative assistant. In order to move up within the company, I was given the opportunity to go to college where I earned my Associate's Degree in Business Management focusing on Accounting and I moved into a Controller's position after three years with the company. Although, it was also during this time that I took on a lot of other roles...HR, Safety, Marketing, training, and more.

Fast forward nine years and I found myself working for an HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical contractor. They hired me as a Bookkeeper but I would call it more of a Controller position as I was handling every aspect of the accounting including month-end close-out and financial reporting working directly with the owner and outside accountants.

During my ten years with the HVAC contractor, I ended up "stepping up" as the Operations Manager for several years as the owner dealt with personal and health issues. I would describe my position with the company at that time as "the owner but without the financial risk and obligations."

I loved all of my jobs and what I was able to accomplish with each of them and learned over the years that my passion isn't necessarily with the tasks at hand but the management, changes & improvements, and progress that I was a part of with each of these businesses.

Which leads me to where I am now...
Wanting to jump on the remote work bandwagon, I quit my job with every intention of taking some time off, finding remote work and relocating myself and my parents to the Carolinas. But things change, as they always do, and I was presented with the opportunity to help businesses with their use of a field-service all-in-one software program and how it works with their processes and procedures. However, I want to take it a step further and am now looking for any businesses that aren't yet to the point to justify a full time bookkeeper and/or want to improve their operations and become more profitable.
